New Ventures Indonesia is established in 1999 in collaboration with World Resources Institute (WRI). NVI is a global program that has been implemented in several countries including Brazil, China, Mexico and India that identifies and assesses potential environmentally sustainable an socially responsible SMEs , seeks potential investors, connects supported sustainable SMEs with banks and financiers, assists in developing business plans and develops partnership with various institutions to support program implementation. NVI Indonesia was launched in December 2005. NVIs aim is to promote sustainable growth in emerging markets by supporting and accelerating the transfer of capital to businesses that deliver social and environmental benefits at the base of the economic pyramid. YBUL's RolesAs a Local Partner Institution of WRI/New Ventures, YBUL provides advice and technical inputs in the areas of environmentally sustainable SMEs, non-traditional soruce of financing for SMEs, as well as management support. Together with WRI/New Ventures, YBUL assists in the designs of strategy and approach to link environmentally sustainable SMEs in Indonesia with non-traditional sources of capital such as private equity funds and venture capital companies.
