GEF Small Grants Program Print

Since 1996 YBUL has been trusted to host the global funding facility called Global Environment Facility/Small Grants Program (GEF/SGP).

GEF/SGP Indonesiaaims to support the achievement of goals set by Global Conventions to Sustainable Development, among others the Convention on Biodiversity and the Convention of Climate Change.

Grant support from GEF/SGP is targeted for NGO and Community Based Organization who have the initiatives to conserve the environment through developing sustainable livelihood opportunities of local communities.

Since 1993 to now, GEF/SGP has channeled funds to local initiatives, located throughout Indonesia.Besides providing grant funds, GEF/SGP also supports various programs such as public awareness, capacity building in various fields including strategy and capacity to manage community based businesses, policy analysis and dialogue, development of partnership and network, and monitoring and evaluation. Although the SGP PTF follows the GEF/SGP methodology of program development and implementation closely, its implementation is carried out by a secretariat under the UNDP CO Indonesia.

YBUL's Roles

As the National Host Institution of GEF/SGP, YBUL shares joint accountability with the NationalCoordinator of GEF/SGP in terms of programme management and grants administration. YBUL is alsoresponsible in providing pre-finance and management services. In addition, YBUL also provides inputsand technical advice in areas such as of renewable energy and micro financing.
