Workshops & Training Print

Since its establishment in 1993, YBUL is involved in organizing workshops and training. Among others on micro hydro energy, solar energy and CDM.

Several examples of workshops organized by YBUL are:

  • Workshop on Solar Photo Voltaic Development in Indonesia, as part of the RENDEV project on 18 june 2008, in collaboration with Intelligent Energy Europe, Transénergie (finance), PlaNet Finance (finance), , ITPower).

The aim of the workshop, in which more than 40 key players in the field of renewable energy participated, was to raise awareness of actors in the micro finance and energy sector on the advantages of collaboration in solar PV development in Indonesia. Solar PV has become one of the most promising options to provide electrification to rural communities. The introduction of technologies should be accompanied with sufficient services to ensure its sustainable functions. YBUL served as the local partner. The project intends to increase the availability and usage of a decentralized electrification service, through linking up simultaneously microfinance mechanisms, solar energy technology with SME development.

The forum acknowledges that PV market in Indonesia is potentially high. Government of Indonesia is performing PV programs, i.e. Rural PV Programs for communities in remote areas on social basis, and Urban PV Program where people are encouraged to utilize PV – on a (fully) commercial basis.

  • Workshops on Integrated Capacity Strengthening for Clean Development Mechanism in Indonesia on 21 to 22 November 2007.

This two days workshop was organized by YBUL with the support from the Ministry of Environment and the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES). The objective of this event was to increase the capacity of the private sectors in designing CDM projects applicable to their line of business.

  • Several workshops for the ASIA Invest Program in 2008. For more information: "Reports & Publications".
